About Us

Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Agama Katolik is a research based national journal published by academic organization in Catholic Education field, i.e. Perkumpulan Perguruan Tinggi Agama Katolik Indonesia (PERPETAKI) or Indonesian Catholic Higher Education Union.

Papers published by JPPAK are products of conversion from research in Catholic education.

Board of editors and reviewers come from their own respective affiliation in more than six provinces in Indonesia.

This journal is published twice in a year.

Papers are written in Indonesian or English.

Aim and Scope

JPPAK strives to publish excellent papers conversed from research in Catholic Religion Education. While in its initial the Journal focuses on national researches, the final aim of the journal is to become a recognized international journal in its field. 

JPPAK will maintain its purpose to support open and greater exchange of knowledge. Therefore, JPPAK grants free access to each published paper. Furthermore, there is no publication fee for the authors. We welcome research papers with appropriate method and distinct results. Each paper will be reviewed following the norm of double blind peer review. 

The scope of this journal is Education with subscope Catholic Religion Education. This Journal is not an anthology. Therefore, each paper must be written within the specific subscope. However, it is apparently licit to explore the subscope in its more specific context, such as Codex Iuris Canonici, Holy Scripture, Pastoral, Liturgy, etc.

History and Background

Research is essential for scholars. This second pillar of higher education need to be published to have impact on society. Each constituent member of the higher education institutions of PERPETAKI has this same obligation to publish.

A requisite apparatus is necessary to publish the research of each lecturer and academician within Catholic Religion Education field, especially a national level journal. On November 28^th, 2018, the board members of PERPETAKI made a commitment to publish JPPAK. The board envisioned this journal to become a national level jornal.

On May 16^th, 2019, PERPETAKI then conveyed the planning in general meeting with the representatives of all higher education intitutions, members of PERPETAKI. In this general meeting an unanimous decisions was made: (1) This journal will be a research journal; (2) This journal will be published twice a year; (3) Each higher education institution, member of PERPETAKI, will commit to encourage their lecturers and researchers to send their paper to be published in this journal; (4) Commitment to cooperate in the reviewing processes of the journal.

Thank God, after a long preparation and intensive communication, the first edition of JPPAK was published in March 2021.

Reviewing Policy

All reviews will be double-blinded review. The reviewer(s) will not know the author(s) of the article being reviewed, and vice versa, the author(s) will not be allowed to know the identity of the reviewer(s) and to contact them personally.

Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Agama Katolik offers immediate open access to all its content based on the principle: making researches freely available to the public, especially to the scholars, to support greater global exchanges of knowledge. This journal encourages all scholarly authors to allow their research openly available, free access and without time restrictions.

All articles published Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. Under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license, authors retain ownership of the copyright for their article, however authors grant others permission to use the content of publications in Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Agama Katolik (JPPAK) in whole or in part provided that the original work is properly cited. Users (redistributors) of Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Agama Katolik (JPPAK) are required to cite the original source by including at least: the full title of the article, the author's or authors' full name(s), JPPAK as the initial source of publication, year of publication and volume number using a propriate citing method.

Copyright encompasses exclusive rights to reproduce and deliver the article in all form and media, including reprints, photographs, microfilms and any other similar reproductions, as well as translations. The reproduction of any part of this journal, its storage in databases and its transmission by any form or media, such as electronic, electrostatic and mechanical copies, photocopies, recordings, magnetic media is prohibited without consent of Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Agama Katolik (JPPAK).

Authors who publish with Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Agama Katolik (JPPAK) agree to the following terms:

1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
3. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) after the publication on JPPAK, but not on other OJS as it will detected by plagiarism checker apps as plagiarism. Each information and biodata given by authors, reviewers, editors, proofreaders, and readers to fill the login process is confidential and will not be shared nor transferred to third parties and will only be used for administration of JPPAK. The information and biodata of users are protected by law.
